Each year the Choir says good-bye to the graduates of the University who leave Moscow  and it greets the newcomers - first year students but  the so-called backbone of the Choir is the same: it is made up of those people who have been singing for 10-30 years. 

Popov N. - oldest soloist of chorus

In the Choir there is a veteran of the Great Patriotic War N.G.Popov, a tenor-soloist, who came to the Choir in 1945. 

Ph.D. for Biology  E.Bourakhanova, Ph.D. for Mathematics  V.Ilyassova,  Ph.D. for Chemistry  L.Titov, K.Bourdina,  I.Soukhoushina have been singing in the Choir  for more than forty years. 
 
Some of the latest Moscow University  Choir  singers: V.Kolyada, Yu.Rybakov,  A.Smagin afterwards joined  professional choirs.

Strong ties of artistic friendship connected the Choir of the Moscow University with I.S.Kozlovsky, the USSR People's Artist, a remarkable tenor, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre. I.S.Kozlovsky took part in the concerts of the Choir, made several joint radio and TV productions with it. A.Vedernikov and A.Orphenov, soloists of the Bolshoi Theater,  gave performances together with the Choir, too.

A.G.Novikov, a well-known Russian Soviet composer, was a friend of the Moscow University Choir and its conductor S.V.Popov. He used to visit the rehearsals and concerts of the Choir when it performed his works such as: "Love" on the verse by  A.Pushkin, "For The Sake Of Tomorrow", "Roads". A.G.Novikov devoted his cantata "Golden Star" to the Choir of Moscow University.

Most Most important traditions, chorus:

Concert of June 6 at 21.00, devoted to birthday of A.S.Pushkin.   At a monument to the large poet of Russia Chorus and all it the old participants sing songs on verses A.S.Pushkin.

Concerts devoted to a Day of the students (Tatianin day) by January 25.

Concert for the graduates of Chorus and University (extremity of May) at a monument of M.V.Lomonosov.
